Emergency? Call 911. Roadside is not an emergency service. A report in the app, including a Fire or Accident report or a request for roadside help, does not reach the police, fire service or ambulance.

In the app: open the menu and choose Help and feedback. You do not need to give your name or email address.
Report a problem
- Something wrong with the app: menu → Help and feedback → "Something is wrong". Tell us what you did and what happened.
- Wrong map, road or place: tap Report, choose Passenger, then Map issue. Choose what is wrong (a turn not allowed, a wrong one-way, a missing road, a wrong address) and add a short note.
- A wrong hazard on the map: tap the pin and choose "Not there". Two "Not there" answers with no "Still there" remove it.
Please do not write or report while you are driving. Ask a passenger, or stop safely first.
Delete my data
In the app: Settings → Delete my data (also in Settings → Privacy). This first stops any Share my ETA link you have running. It then deletes your account, your saved places, your feedback and your report photos, and removes your link to the reports you made. It also clears Roadside's data on your phone: saved places, routines, trip history and reports not yet sent. It also withdraws your shared driving trips. Traffic averages cannot be traced to anyone and are not affected. You can also download a copy of your data from the same screen first.
If you no longer have the app, email us (address above) and we will help.
Questions
Why does Roadside ask for my location?
To show you on the map, give you directions and warn you about hazards on the road ahead. Your location for the map stays on your phone; the privacy policy lists the few things that are sent, such as the start and destination of a route you ask for. Other people never see your location, except the approximate position you choose to send with Share my ETA.
Does Roadside use my location with the screen off?
Only during a route you start. Roadside asks only for "While Using the App". When you start a route to a destination, it keeps using your location with the screen off or another app open, so turn-by-turn directions and hazard and camera alerts keep speaking. iOS shows the blue location indicator while it does. It stops when you end the trip or arrive, after ten minutes parked, or when you walk away from the car. Walking away usually ends the trip after three minutes; if the map recalculates the route to follow you on foot, twenty minutes after you first walked away from the route you drove, pauses included.
What happens to voice alerts when I'm on a phone call?
Roadside stays quiet so it doesn't talk over your call. Directions and alerts keep showing on screen. If a serious hazard is ahead, such as an accident, flooding or a closed road, you'll hear a single short chime so you know to glance at the screen. Normal voice alerts return as soon as the call ends.
What is "Share anonymous traffic data"?
While you drive with Roadside open, your phone sends location and speed points under a random code that changes every trip and is not linked to you. The first and last 300 metres of every trip are removed on your phone, so your home and destination are not included. You can switch it off at any time in Settings → Privacy.
Does Roadside work without signal?
Yes. The map, search, directions, spoken turns and the hazard warnings your phone already has all work offline, and an Offline badge shows at the top of the map. Reports and "Still there" or "Not there" votes you make without signal are saved on your phone and sent by themselves when you are back online, never twice (a vote still waiting after 30 minutes is not sent). Undo only says a report was removed when it really is gone. New reports from other drivers, Share ETA, live traffic and Delete my data need a connection; the app says so when you try, and nothing is deleted or sent while you are offline. During a trip, after two minutes without signal, Roadside says once: "Connection lost. New road reports may be delayed."
Do I need an account?
No sign-up needed. When you tap Agree and continue, Roadside makes an anonymous account on your phone by itself: no name, no email and no password. Your reports are shown to other drivers without your name. The account lets Roadside stop false reports, and lets you download or delete your data (Settings → Delete my data).
What happens when I get a new phone?
A new phone starts a new Roadside account. Your anonymous account stays on the phone that made it, so it is not copied by a backup or a transfer to another phone, and your reports, votes, saved places and settings don't carry over. On the same phone, deleting and reinstalling Roadside keeps your account. On a new account, you can report one accident, fire, flooding or road closure in the first 10 minutes; another one waits on your phone and goes by itself after that. Such a report is shown on the map as unconfirmed, is taken off after 30 minutes unless another driver confirms it, and is not spoken to other drivers until another driver confirms it (with Roadside 1.0.1 and later, also once the 10 minutes have passed).
Does Roadside work with CarPlay?
Not in version 1.0. We plan to add CarPlay in a later version.
What is the Demo drive?
A two-minute simulated drive in Hamilton that shows directions, hazard alerts and live traffic. Open the menu (top left of the map) and choose Demo drive. Nothing in it is real and nothing is sent. If you open Roadside outside Bermuda, or with location off, the map also offers it.
Is Roadside free?
Roadside is free to download and use, with no subscription.
Does Roadside work outside Bermuda?
No. It is made only for Bermuda.
